Abstract

A time-of-flight technique which allows a fast and precise measurement of the stopping-power of gases for keV-ions has been developed. First results are reported for the stopping cross-section of lead ions in helium gas in the energy range 25 keV ≤ E 0 ≤ 75keV. The data are compared with the Linhard theory.
