Abstract

57Fe has been bombarded with protons and 114 peaks in the yield curve for the reaction 57Fe(p, γ) 58Co have been observed in the range of proton energy from 1175 keV to 1675 keV. Gamma-ray measurements have been performed with a Ge(Li) detector and the decay scheme studied with a coincidence spectrometer. A decay scheme with 30 excited levels and 52 transitions is proposed. The excited states are discussed and compared with shell-model calculations. The integrated experimental spectrum of primary gamma rays has been compared with the statistical primary gamma-ray spectrum.
