Abstract

Arising the value of new technologies each day and raising the human population, demands more power to use appliances in day to day life. Internet of Things (IoT) application is a modernized innovative technology that connects objects and embedded devices for instance smart devices with sensors and actuators. In several IoT applications longer lifespan, scalability, maintenance free and mobility support of the devices is of prominent need. A feasible solution is to scavenge and harvest energy from vibrations present in the environment. Therefore, focusing on Piezo Energy Harvesting (PEH) from vibrations will be a promising solution to power IoT devices. To support new technologies with power it requires very less energy and it can be harvested from scavenging energy present in our environment. The best means of scavenging energy can be from vibrations. Power generation can be done in a number of ways using different techniques. We are proposing a new renewable way of generating electrical energy from the unused vibrations present in the environment. Moreover, piezoelectric energy harvesting technique has become favored among researchers because of the simplicity of converting mechanical energy into electric energy using piezoelectric transducers. Thus focusing on the piezoelectric energy harvesting, we provide a promising solution to power the sensor nodes present in the industries. Therefore without any consumption of fuel or any usage of non-renewable resources, electrical power can be viably generated from unused vibrations.
