Abstract

A classical Coulomb three-body problem is solved to investigate the post-collision interaction effects in the autoionisation process by electron impact. The resultant energy shifts differ greatly from those given by the Barker-Berry formula, especially at high energies. Reasonable agreement with experimental results is obtained in a wide energy range.
