Abstract

namics of polaron in poly (p-phenylene) (PPP) in the presence of high electric field is studied by using an extended tight-binding Model. Due to the strong electron-phonon coupling in PPP chain, the lattice potential energy and the electronic energy oscillate out of phase; the doped electron is still confined in a limited area of the lattice even if the applied field is as strong as 0.5V/nm.
