Abstract

This paper discusses an optical wireless sensor network that combines wireless sensor networks with optical communication technology. We use vector quantization to find the active nodes in cooperative communication and study the performance parameters of the overall network. The mathematical analysis is initially carried out for calculating the node placements depending on their sensing outputs with energy detection. The simulation results are presented with an comparison of theoretical and simulated approach of our proposed method. The proposed scheme can effectively solve the problem of analyzing the power efficiency of traditional wireless sensor networks, and reduce energy consumption, while providing high-speed data transmission and secure communication links for optical communication.
