Abstract

The PV system efficiency obtained under real outdoor conditions are mostly different from the one achieved in Standard Test Conditions (STC). In addition, this efficiency is affected by several parameters including, the PV cell technology, the incident title and the environmental conditions such as (solar irradiance, ambient air temperature, wind speed and direction). In this paper, we will present the energy efficiency of a polycrystalline photovoltaic array located in Marrakech under real outdoor conditions. The effect of climatic conditions on the PV system performance was established trough detailed analysis of its output efficiency as a function of onsite meteorological parameters. The Experimental measurements during two different period of the year (summer and winter) were used in this work. The results were shown that the PV efficiency is 11.76% and 6.49% for summer and winter respectively lower than that given under laboratory standard test conditions.
