Abstract

Exhaust emissions from shipping and transportation industry have become a hot topic of global concern. Many studies have shown that these problems are related to traditional marine fuel oil. In order to deal with more and more serious environmental problems and abide by more and more stringent laws and regulations, marine gas-battery hybrid power system is a good way to deal with these problems. In this paper, a scheme of parallel ship hybrid power system is proposed. A simulation model is built on Simulink platform by modular modeling method. According to the characteristics of hybrid power system, the research working conditions are determined, and the simulation analysis is carried out under different power ratios and different working conditions. The results show that the energy efficiency of the ship hybrid power system is not superior to that of the traditional mechanical propulsion system at high load and high speed; The energy efficiency of hybrid power system has a slight advantage over that of mechanical propulsion system at medium load and speed; Compared with the mechanical propulsion system, the energy efficiency of the Marine hybrid power system is significantly improved at low load and low speed, and the energy efficiency can reach 34.33% at the pure electric propulsion.
