Abstract
Energy distributions of charged and neutral hadrons in the forward direction and the average transverse momentum squared of charged hadrons have been determined in the interactions of 280 GeV muons with protons. The muons were incident on a 6m long hydrogen target, of which the downstream 2m only have been used for this study of hadron production. Charged hadrons as well as the scattered muons were measured in momentum and angle by a forward spectrometer.
