Abstract

Wireless Network is spreading all over the world. Wireless network are very easy in installation and in use. This type of network does not require any extra cost in establishment. Every network has its advantages and disadvantages. A user faces many problems during using this network. Wireless networks are established in two variant modes either in infrastructure mode or in Ad hoc mode. Working in infrastructure mode is some where similar to wired network. Data transmission is achieved with the help of centralized device. Ad hoc mode works in decentralized manner. All data transmission done through the nodes present in the network. Ad hoc mode has many challenges like limited bandwidth, limitation of battery power, less memory space, data forwarding techniques, route selection, size of data etc. Resources required during data transmission may not be available in large amount. This may interrupt overall working of network. Ad hoc mode is easily deployable. Network can be established any time any where. Popularity of such network is increasing day by day. Battery power is one of the main issues in working of Ad hoc mode. Overall working and lifetime of Ad hoc network is totally dependent on power available at a node. Power consumption in data transmission depends on distance between two nodes. Large distance may consume lot of battery power. Route selection, Network information distribution and retransmission of data also consumes noticeable amount of battery power. If a node spends very large part of its battery power in few data transmission then it may no longer be available to other nodes in the network. Such types of node are excluded from network path. In this paper it has been analyzed that data transmission depends on the distance between two nodes as well as on environmental condition. Environmental condition may affect data transmission.
