Abstract
This report, on China's iron and steel industry since 1980, introduces it, discusses the basic situation in more detail, and goes on to characteristics of production, energy consumption and energy utilization efficiency. It analyzes the influence on energy consumption and energy utilization efficiency of product-mix, scale of enterprise and scale of major production equipment. As compared with developed countries in terms of production mix, scale of equipment and degree of dissemination of energy conservation technologies, the energy conservation potential of China's iron and steel industry is analyzed. Policies and energy conservation technologies are recommended for the development of China's iron and steel industry.
