Abstract
This chapter discusses the energy calculations for 6 Li with short-range dynamical correlations. The electron scattering studies of the nucleon scattering and pion absorption have also simulated interest in the nucleon–nucleon correlations. The dynamical correlations arise from the short-range part of the nucleon–nucleon interaction. In order to fit the high momentum transfer data, the short-range correlation factor is introduced. It shows that the short-range correlation factor changes both the high and low Fourier components of the charge density. With a great deal of improvement in the accuracy of measurements of high-energy electron scattering from nuclear targets, valuable information about the nuclear structure has been obtained. However, some of the features exhibited at large momentum transfer cannot be explained with the ordinary independent-particle shell model wave functions of nuclei in the pure harmonic oscillator model.
