Abstract

Rationale: Adequate nutrition is essential for growth in children with cystic fibrosis (CF). The new guidelines for CF bring attention to monitoring macronutrient intake as well as total energy. In general the goal for children with CF is to achieve optimal growth by consuming a daily energy (kcal) intake of 110–200% of the recommended daily allowance (RDA). The aim of this study was to evaluate daily energy and macronutrient intakes and compare according to the recommendations of the nutritional guidelines for CF.
