Abstract
Differential cross sections and vector analyzing powers of the breakup reaction 4 He( d, pα) n have been measured in a kinematically-complete coincidence experiment as a function of the bombarding energy from 6 to 11 MeV and for production angles θ from 40° to 90° at a fixed bombarding energy of 7 MeV. The excitation function was taken at a fixed proton c.m. angle theta; p.c.m. = 69° corresponding to the kinematical conditions of nα final-state interaction. The comparison with a Faddeev calculation shows good agreement at the higher energies but serious deviations in the region of the 1 + (5.65 MeV) state of 6Li but only in the cross section. It is suggested that this is probably due to the effects of the Coulomb interaction.
