ABSTRACT ENERGY inputs and outputs were comparatively analyzed for 11 vegetable oil fuels. Three-year average prices and production quantities were also com-pared. All nonirrigated oil crops had favorable energy ratios. Soybean, peanut and sunflower oils were the most promising as domestic fuel sources. Rapeseed oil would also be promising if significant domestic production can be established.
