Abstract
By using the adiabatic method, the energy values and the equilibrium internuclear separation of the H 2 + ion in the very weak bonding state σ u at zero magnetic field are calculated from adiabatic potentials, as a function of magnetic field strength. The adiabatic method with a variational parameter gives the very reasonable results over the wide range of magnetic field strength
