Abstract
Mathematical models of the unit energy—the energy required to remove unit volume of the surface layer from a machined component—are presented, for different machining processes and frictional conditions. Analytical dependences of the wear rate on the machining conditions at external cylindrical surfaces are obtained. A single-stage algorithm for ensuring permissible surface wear in friction is established.
