Abstract

AbstractEnergetic theory of isomorphous miscibility is used for interpretation of LnF3–Ln'F3 phase diagram types and values of coefficients of Ln' distribution between crystals and melt. Such an analysis supplies the information for estimates of unknown properties of solid solutions of hexagonal tysonite or orthorhombic yttrium fluoride types and binary melts. Besides that there is a possibility of prediction of phase equilibria in many of those LnF3–Ln'F3 system of 105 possible ones which are not yet studied experimentally.
