Abstract
AbstractGas Utilities (MIC: 7.4 SIC: 4924 NAIC: 221210)Energen is a diversified energy holding company engaged primarily in the acquisition, development, exploration and production of oil, natural gas and natural gas liquids in the continental U.S. and in the purchase, distribution, and sale of natural gas, principally in central and north Alabama. As of Dec 31 2005, Co.'s proved oil and gas reserves totaled 1,722 billion cubic feet equivalent. Co.'s two principal subsidiaries are Energen Resources Corporation, which is engaged in the oil and gas operations, and Alabama Gas Corporation (Alagasco), which is engaged in natural gas distribution.
