AbstractGas Utilities (MIC: 7.4 SIC: 4924 NAIC:221210)Energen is a diversified energy holding company engaged primarily in the acquisition, development, exploration and production of oil, natural gas and natural gas liquids in the continental U.S. and in the purchase, distribution, and sale of natural gas, principally in central and north Alabama. Alagasco, Co.'s principal subsidiary, is the largest natural gas distribution utility in Alabama, and services a territory that includes approximately 185 cities and communities in 28 counties. The oil and gas exploration and production arm of Co. is Energen Resources, which conducts its activities onshore in North America.
