Abstract

Sixty-one pregnant guinea pigs were randomly divided into six study groups. These animals were subjected to various environmental conditions within a hyperbaric oxygen resuscitation chamber. About half of the animals were injected with coliform endotoxin. Hyperbaric oxygen apparently afforded no protection and the mortality was uniformly high in the endotoxin-injected groups of animals. There were no deaths in any of the control groups.
