Abstract

Post-traumatic biliary stricture caused by blunt abdominal trauma is uncommon. Patients are typically seen with obstructive jaundice without pain, and malignant causes are usually considered foremost in the differential diagnosis. Accurate diagnosis is essential because post-traumatic biliary strictures can be mistaken radiologically for malignant or inflammatory bile duct disease.1 This is a description of a case of a benign common hepatic duct stricture after blunt abdominal trauma that mimicked cholangiocarcinoma and was managed endoscopically.
