Abstract
Control of bleeding during endoscopic surgery of the skull base and orbit is critical to maintain adequate visualization and avoid damage to surrounding critical structures. One technique for achieving adequate hemostasis is ligation of the feeding vessels of the nasal and sinus cavities. Endoscopic vessel ligation techniques may also be used as a definitive procedure for the treatment of refractory epistaxis. Although endoscopic ligation of the sphenopalatine artery has been widely adopted, techniques for reliable endoscopic ligation of the anterior ethmoid artery have only recently been described.
