Abstract

Introduction: Nasal septal chondrosarcoma is an infrequent disease with fewer than 50 cases described in the literature. Its optimal management depends on the local control of the tumor, as no neck or distant metastases are involved. Hence, its preferred treatment is radical surgical resection through various open approaches which assure good exposure and resection. On the other hand, advances in endoscopic sinus surgery technique and powered instrumentation enable otolaryngologists to achieve nearly the same results through the endonasal endoscopic approach for some various selected tumors of the nose and skull base. In the literature, successful endoscopic resection of three septal chondrosarcoma cases have been reported. However, none of them has shown extension to the skull base, ours being the first to be reported.
