Abstract
erebrospinal fluid (CSF) rhinorrhea was first described by Wills in 1682 and later demonstrated by Miller in 1826. C The surgical management of CSF rhinorrhea has traditionally been the domain of the neurosurgeon operating via the transcranial route. Dandy first demonstrated transcranial repair of CSF leak in 1926. In 1948, Dohlman used an extracranial approach through a naso-orbital incision to repair an anterior cranial fossa CSF leak.
