Abstract

Laparoscopic excision is the treatment of choice in more than 3 cm endometrioma. It is still debated in literature if the surgical treatment may result in an ovarian reserve damage due to the removal of healthy ovarian cortex. This study investigates the extent of ovarian reserve damage after stripping technique for endometrioma excision. Anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) serum levels and early antral follicle count (AFC) have been compared before and after surgery and also with data from an healthy women control group.
