Abstract

Patients with glycogenosis are usually small, obese and mostly exhibit osteoporosis of the spine. These children have a Cushing-like aspect. Several types of the disease exist. Type I shows a deficiency of glucose-6-phosphatase and is unable to form free glucose from glycogen, whereas in Type III (debrancher enzyme deficiency) the resulting hypoglycemias are not as severe.
