Abstract

Results of a study of the clinical picture of endocrine ophthalmopathies in 1710 patients are presented. On the basis of the clinical course of endocrine ophthalmopathy and by comparison with histological findings in extra-ocular muscles, it was possible to distinguish three principal forms of the disease: thyrotoxic exophthalmos, edematous exophthalmos and endocrine myopathy.
