Abstract

Eleven cases of fibroelastosis of the endocardium are reviewed and two new cases reported. The microscopic evidence of hyperplasia of the fibrous and elastic tissue elements of the endocardium in the two new cases reported parallels the findings in the previously reported cases. The pathogenesis of this lesion is at present not clear, although it is probable that the explanation lies in a developmental aberration in the fetus.
