Abstract
A new edition of the Time Use Survey is being launched with the fundamental impetus from Eurostat. In this edition is coordinated between different EU countries. It is a tool of great value, which has already shown its fruitful potential in the most different fields of social sciences, including communication studies. In Spain the field work is directed by the INE (National Institute of Statistics), as in the two previous editions 2002-2003 and 2009-2010. The announced edition opens a relevant opportunity for communication researchers, especially from a comparative perspective: over time, between countries or combining both perspectives. In the work presented, a case of data analysis is offered in a simplified way and as an example. We only wanted to show its potential and references to previous studies.
