Abstract
For many stoma care and continence nurses, the thought of politics invading their nursing space does not make them shout for joy. However, today more than ever, nurses are faced with the challenges of a modern-day health service that aims to give a seamless journey for patients and improve the quality of their care. If, as nurses, we do not know what is happening at the top, we cannot air our views and make ourselves heard as an advocate for our patient group.
