Abstract
Objectives: Recurrent mitral regurgitation (MR) post repair of mitral valve Type 1 or 2 disease is a dilemma. Re-do surgical valve replacement versus bail-out fixation of the leaflets are options, but they do not target the underlying mechanism of recurrent MR, that is, continued annular dilation and leaflet tethering. The Encor Dynamic Annuloplasty Ring allows for an adjustment of the ring via shape change, and we report safety and feasibility of the 1st generation device.
