Abstract

Abstract Digital holography offers theory and methods to encode in principle any kind of filters in optical signal processing. The resulting flexibility is demonstrated for the example of synthetic discriminant function (SDF) filters. A coding method is introduced for the calculation of analogue and quantized phase encoded SDF filters. In particular it is shown how to separate the filter specification and its encoding.
