Abstract

Encoding microcarriers can significantly improve the biosensing performance and have recently been used for cell culture and capture, as well as drug screening and delivery. Moreover, the visualized encoding signals can also participate in the characterization of biological effects of biomimetic organ chips. This paper reviews the application progress and research prospects of various encoding strategies in the biomedical field.
