Abstract
A range of novel phosphorus-containing tricarbonyl(η6-arene)chromium complexes has been synthesised via the enantioselective ortho-metallation approach using a chiral lithium amide base. Initial asymmetric reaction of a phosphine oxide complex allows the preparation of silyl- or stannyl-substituted products in ca. 73% ee, which then allows the preparation of other phosphine derivatives in very high ee (>95%) following phosphine reduction and enantiomeric enrichment.
