Abstract

Abstract Emission from a cationic cyclometalated iridium(III) complex, Δ- or Λ-[Ir(ppy)2(dmbpy)]+ (Hppy: 2-phenylpyridine and dmbpy: 4,4′-dimethyl-2,2′-bipyridine), adsorbed on a colloidal saponite clay was quenched stereoselectively by chiral [Ru(acac)3] (acac: acetylacetonato) in a solution at the overall selectivity factor of KSVo(Δ–Δ or Λ–Λ)/KSVo(Δ–Λ) = 1.84 in favor of the pseudo-enantiomeric pair between the emitter and the quencher.
