Abstract

A (S)‐BINAM‐based novel trifluoromethyl ketone is synthesized, which is found to exhibit ratiometric fluorescent responses to a chiral diamine. The emission at 386 nm can be used to determine the total concentration of the substrate, and that at 474 nm can be used to determine the enantiomeric composition. It can also be used for the enantioselective fluorescent recognition of free amino acids. This compound represents the first BINAM‐based highly enantioselective molecular probe for fluorescent sensing.
