Abstract

Abstract A macrocyclic anthracene–acetylene oligomer with a chiral structure was synthesized by metal-catalyzed coupling reactions. X-ray analysis revealed that the molecule had a distorted diamond prism structure of D2 symmetry. This compound underwent spontaneous resolution upon crystallization, and the chiroptical properties of enantiopure samples were investigated by CD spectroscopy.
