Abstract
We read with great interest the Personal View by Benjamin Corn and colleagues1 in The Lancet Oncology. Their piece is timely, as the world continues to be embroiled in the global pandemic, perhaps sharing some degree of the existential searching that many patients with cancer grapple with.2 Although questions of hope have long been probed in the arts and humanities, Corn and colleagues' work is effective in its effort to translate our understanding and experience of hope to the clinical and oncological setting.
