Abstract

This article explores the debate concerning the social consequences of biotechnology. The development of the post-human society challenges ideas and foundations of the liberal democracy. Both utopian and dystopian views of the posthuman society are challenged. The article also shows that market mechanisms direct, which increases the social polarization between Gene Rich and Natural classes of humans. This seems like science-fiction, but the article shows that the factors of the post-human society already influences relations between people and groups and not the least, what human life really is.
