Abstract

A 32-year-old man presented with scotoma and photopsias in his left eye. Visual field testing revealed a paracentral scotoma and an enlarged blind spot. OCT B-scan showing the absence of the ellipsoid zone (EZ) and interdigitation zone (IZ) in the peripapillary and parafoveal areas (Fig A). En face image with segmentation from EZ to IZ showing hyporeflective areas surrounded by hyperreflective rings corresponding to the photoreceptor defects observed on B-scan (Fig B). B-scan obtained 1 week later showing subtle enlargement of the parafoveal photoreceptor defects (Fig C).
