Abstract

This work is part of a project carried out with fifthyear students (Biological Diversification) of the high school nro. 13 “Ituzaingó”, of the CES. The management team authorizes the project and the participation of the parents of the students involved. The challenge was for the students to beresponsible for the work and to strengthen their self-confidence, improving their self-esteem. Selfmanagement also sought to develop skills such asthe ability to apply and understand the concepts worked in the classroom. During the development of the activity, they carried out various tasks for theconstruction of the pond. One of them was choosing the space to build it, getting the materials and tools necessary for construction. In another instance of work; They had to relate the construction of the pond and its operation with the unit “Biodiversity as a wealth to be conserved” (Wetlands), of the Second Year Program of Biological Diversification. Finally, they had to plan a class thinking about the target population, first-year basic cycle students, to assess their learning achievements, hierarchical capacity teacher was to be a guide and guide in the design of the object of study (pond) and provided the conceptual content necessary to advance in the project. As a result, the pond was built and could be used, relatingit to the contents of the school year program. It focused on a group of organisms: Diatoms, of which it was observed by light microscope, a representative community of this type of aquatic ecosystem and didactic transposition.
