Abstract
Dissection has long been considered the basis of anatomical training. Today, the decline in anatomy teaching and ethical issues of respect for the bodies are leading to the use of more technological means to learn anatomy. But this ignores the essential step of learning about the reality of the human body, that of the future patient. The role of dissection must be seen regardless of the specialty. Anatomy is an essential discipline for the doctor, regardless of the stage of their training from initial to continuing. Alternatives to dissection provided by digital technology, a new teaching and learning tool, facilitate interaction between anatomists and clinicians, and interactivity between teachers and students. Technological advances in medicine, in addition to dissection, provide proof of the current need for anatomical knowledge.
