Abstract

This paper discusses a wind conversion chain based on a doubly fed induction generator. First, we will present the different components of the wind turbine system, aerodynamic, mechanical and electrical models will be treated. In a second step we will study how to make a physical simulator wind turbine with a DC motor, then, we present the modeling of the doubly fed induction generator (DFIG). The entire wind energy conversion chain (DC motor emulation of the mechanical part and DFIG) will then be validated by simulation for two operating point of our wind turbine, one below the synchronous speed (sub-synchronous mode) and one above (hyper-synchronous mode).
