Abstract

Speaking from a Greek Orthodox perspective this article considers the procedure of being filled with the Holy Spirit through the emptying of everything that has to do with the well-being of one’s ‘ego’. This procedure has three stages. The ‘prerequisite’, which is the direction that a Christian must follow; ‘emptiness’, which is a continuous fight against one’s own earthly self, will and desires; and ‘being filled’, which includes the manifestations of the Holy Spirit in daily life.
