Abstract

This study aims to conduct a review of literature concerning the use of radiographic panoramic in pediatric dentistry, addressing their indications, limitations, protection against radiation and its advantages. Being an extra bucal radiographic technic is more acceptable by children of different ages and their use must be associated with the need to obtain more information from the maxillo-mandibular region, making it an excellent way to assist in the diagnosis of pediatric dentistry, like the study of the dental growth and development, in the study of anomalies and diseases of the jaw. However, it must be supplemented when need for greater detail and sharpness.
