Abstract

Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) hasbeen at the forefront of integrating art therapy in schools since1979, helping children with emotional/behavioral disabilitiesbecome more receptive to academic involvement whilemaximizing their social and emotional potential. This articledescribes the history, development, current configuration, andfuture outlook for school art therapy services provided by theM-DCPS Clinical Art Therapy Department.
