Abstract
Individuals with disabilities, particularly those with motor impairments, comprise a significant portion of the global population. smart home technologies have become a viable tool for improving their living conditions and promoting independence. This paper systematically synthesizes recent research on smart home technologies that enhance the living conditions of people with mobility impairments. Among the 27 studies reviewed, individuals with various mobility disabilities benefited from smart home technology, and independent living became more feasible. However, some limitations still exist, including the efficiency and convenience of wearable equipment, system sophistication, and generalization to a wider range of use. The findings of this study may inform the design of next-generation smart home technology for universal users.
