Abstract

In general, older workers (50+) struggle to recover from job loss, as they may be perceived as having certain characteristics that may impact negatively the likelihood of obtaining employment, including poor health, resistance to change, or low trainability. Little is known how age is associated with employment outcomes for people with disabilities receiving Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) services. This abstract's specific goals are to (1) compare employment outcomes of VR consumers with different types of disability as they age, and (2) identify the VR services that are predictors of successful employment in these groups.
