Abstract
This paper adopted panel data model from 1996 to 2007 to study the effect of the minimum wage standard on employment of construction and manufacturing in China. The empirical results showed that the improvement of minimum wage standard last year had significant positive effect on the employment of construction, the improvement of minimum wage standard current year had significant negative effect on the employment of manufacturing. This paper finally proposed a more detailed minimum wage standard should be for required format.
